english band that turned existential dread into stadium music. they started with creep and somehow ended up soundtracking collective anxiety for two decades. every album feels like a controlled identity crisis. ok computer predicted modern alienation before social media made it obvious. kid a confused everyone and then aged perfectly. not easy listening, but strangely addictive once it clicks.

since they were only able to rehearse at school on fridays, the band was initially called on a friday. but in 1991, shortly before signing with a record label, they changed their name to radiohead, inspired by the song “radio head” by talking heads
